Braddon Busking Festival volunteering

The Braddon Collective is looking for volunteers to help at the Braddon Busking Festival on Sunday 30 March. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, enjoy a day out in beautiful Braddon, and contribute to a cultural event run by a volunteer community group. We look forward to hearing from you!

When

The festival will run from 9am to 4pm on Sunday 30 March 2025. We are looking for people who can commit to a minimum of 4 hours during on the day. Prior to the day, volunteers will need to attend an info session at 10am on Sunday 23 March (location to come), running for approximately 45mins. This is an important opportunity to meet fellow volunteers and the organising team, learn what the festival is all about, familiarise yourself with your role duties, and get a general overview of how the day will run.

Roles

We are seeking:

Busking token sellers

Duties: Sell busking tokens; provide assistance and info to visitors

Description: Sellers will be walking around in pairs, selling busking tokens to festival attendees and passers-by, and act as roving info points for the festival. You will be on the move around the main commercial area of Braddon. You will be selling tokens using Square card readers and cash (we will run through how to use Square readers with you before you start). You will be able to answer questions about what the Festival is, who is running it and why, and – most importantly – how the busking tokens work. Towards the end of the day/as needed, you will assist with counting and tallying tokens as buskers bring them in. 8 required.

Headquarters volunteers

Duties: Provide assistance and info to visitors; hold First Aid kit, sunscreen, and water supply; sell Braddon Collective merchandise – Street Art Maps, stickers, temporary tattoos; sell busking tokens; count busking tokens.

Description: You will be the touchpoint throughout the day for enquiries from the general public and fellow volunteers, as well as supporting our headquarters coordinator and busker coordinator as needed. You will be looking after general supplies and distributing them as needed (e.g. sunscreen and water). You will also be displaying and selling Braddon Collective merchandise, using a Square reader and cash (we will run through how to use Square readers with you before you start). You may also need to sell busking tokens. Towards the end of the day/as needed, a major task will be counting and tallying tokens as buskers bring them in. 2 required.
